Project Summary. In response to DHS concerns
about the DHS workforce’s ability to recognize terrorists
or terrorist activities, Perot Systems was engaged to create
and host computer-based training (CBT). Our CBT prototype
has been shown to a development test group and will next be
open to a civilian Beta Test Group of 500 private sector employees.
Our CBT will then be available on the DHS training portal
to thousands of DHS employees and tens of thousands of private
sector employees. This project supported three key DHS objectives:
- Increase public awareness of terrorist threat to critical
infrastructure facilities
- Improve capability of private sector personnel to deter,
detect, and prevent terrorism at the nation's critical infrastructure
facilities
- Provide CBT available anytime, anywhere to users with
access to the Internet and a password for the DHS Office
of Domestic Preparedness (ODP) training portal—provided
to anyone interested to register a password with DHS
